Firefighter Behavioral Health Intervention

Evaluation of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Behavioral Health Stress First Aid Intervention

The Consensus Protocol on Firefighter Behavioral Health Stress First Aid Intervention or SFAI is a behavioral health model developed to address exposure to traumatic events experienced by firefighters. We conducted a process evaluation of the implementation of the program and examined the acceptability, usability, and satisfaction of the program itself. We found that SFAI was indeed effective and were able to identify best practices for implementing it.
