Correctional Officer Stressors

Identification and Mitigation of Robust Organizational Stressors and Mediators on Correctional Officer Health and Wellness

Organizational stressors are the largest source of stress correctional officers (COs) face in the work environment. These stressors impact their behavioral, psychological, social, and physiological health. With this project, our aim is to identify the most impactful organizational stressors on CO health along with the mechanisms of those stressors. Once these factors are identified, we will develop a toolkit of policies, programs, and practices that will mitigate the impact of these organizational stressors.
