Firefighter Bullying
Bullying, Harassment & Resilience in the Fire Service
After a study concerning the harassment of female firefighters, we saw the need for a broader study of harassment and bullying among all firefighters. To this end, we partnered with the International Association of Fire Chiefs to create a bullying task force. Our research successfully quantified the scale of the problem in a way that had never been done before and it identified the unique forms bullying takes within the culture of Firefighters. Informed by this research, we developed an intervention program, specifically tailored and responsive to the fire service.
