The Safety, Health, and Implementation for Emergency, Law Enforcement, and Corrections, and Dispatch Research Center (SHIELD) is the newest center at NDRI-USA, Inc. The mission of the SHIELD Research Center is to empower law enforcement, corrections, and dispatch agencies to advance the safety and well-being of their employees. We are committed to creating healthier and safer workplaces for those who serve and protect our communities. Investigators at SHIELD have expertise in occupational health and safety, biostatistics, psychology, criminal justice, minority health disparities, and Total Worker Health. SHIELD has worked with local and state organizations, and unions, to improve the workplace climate and health of their employees and members. SHIELD Research Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice-Office of Justice Programs.
