Center for Technology-based Education & Behavioral Health

At the Center for Technology-based Education and Behavioral Health we believe healthcare is a human right, and everyone in our community deserves access to care. Our technology-based interventions are available in English and Spanish, and are designed to address sensitive issues people may hesitate to discuss face to face (e.g. the importance and personal relevance of HIV/HCV testing and prevention; vaccination against COVID-19; and protection against overdose).

Our primary goals are to increase health literacy, to combat misinformation, and to facilitate positive changes in health behavior. Our work is guided by established models of behavioral science, including Social Cognitive Theory and the Information, Motivation, Behavioral Skills model, along with empirically derived theories of multimedia learning. Using the PEARLE methodology, all our intervention materials and study designs are developed and evaluated with extensive community participation.
